LIFE IN YELLOW

So here we go!

"I'll wait as long as you need, but I'll also marry you tomorrow if you want to!"

And, I wanted to. I said, "Ok, here's your homework. Since you have a little more time than I do, will you do the research on what we need to do to legally get married?"

So he did, first thing in the morning the next day. I got to work and there was an email in my inbox already. A link to a few different wedding info sites, and info about Multnomah County marriage licenses.

The county office is just down the street from my work, and it was free to just pick one up, so I did that day on my lunch break. My Yellow Farmer came home after work, and we filled it out, and immediately began talking about WHEN. As far as we were concerned the real thing already happened, we just wanted to legalize it, and suddenly we both wanted to do it as soon as possible. We pulled down my All Things Alice (in Wonderland) calendar and took a gander.

There's a mandatory three day waiting period. In three days, it would be Friday the 13th. Friday the 13th!!! We both loved that idea. We scoff in the face of Stuperstition. The only other day that looked good to us was the full moon day, which was on a Monday in a few weeks. We decided if we could find someone to perform the wedding on the 13th, we would, and if we had to wait, we'd go for the full moon.

The next day, we went to the office together to turn in our application, and YF took the list of judges home as homework. He soon called me and told me they were all booked. Bummer. Wait! I know! I tracked down my bishop's phone number...
