A Call from The Continent

Early this morning my phone rang. It was Germany calling.
Actually, it was my parents calling from Germany! Very exciting.
They are so excited about all the details of their new missionary life that I managed to get through the entire phone call without being asked once if I'm dating anyone! Success!

LDS. Single. Ok, probably almost anyone who's single. Any phone call from someone not seen in a while includes "So, are you seeing anyone?" "Any special boys?" Or, if it's from Big Brother with super radar, it's "Ok, who is he? Is he bigger than me? I'm gonna beat him up."

My last call from the parentals, just before they flew out included the "So, are there any special boys right now?" variety. My answer was "It's too early to tell."

The truth is, as far as Mom and Dad are concerned right now, that's still the answer. Yes things are great and wonderful, but they know I go through this often enough that I don't need to concern them with my stuff until the stuff is serious.

When I was dating Idaho-White, and introduced him to my parents as my boyfriend, they still continued to refer to him as just "my friend" for months. When he's not LDS, they kinda live in denial. If he is LDS, their eyes light up and they ask more hopeful questions.

I love my parents.
